This week, we are turning our focus to a resource that is vital to us all: WATER. 💧 The Rio Grande is the lifeblood of Laredo, and it is our collective responsibility to respect and protect it. We can do this!
Did you know that even a tiny, dripping faucet can waste thousands of gallons of water a year? 🤯
We are taking real action: this week, we have been auditing school faucets and reporting leaks to our janitorial staff to save every drop. 🚰 By making small adjustments at school and at home, WE are making a massive difference for our city.

The Laredo ISD Earth Day Challenge is officially here, and it’s our time to shine! 🌍 This isn’t just a district contest; it’s our opportunity to show everyone what true Bulldog Pride looks like in action. We are launching a student-led campaign to make Cigarroa the greenest campus in Laredo!
To help us get inspired, we’ve put up custom Cigarroa Bulldog motivational posters all around school! 🎨 They are created by Bulldogs, for Bulldogs, because our collective spirit is what will drive real change. Spot one in the cafeteria, by the gym, or in the main office and let it remind you of what we can achieve together.
We aren't just here to follow; we are here to LEAD. We are starting with the basics: "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle." ♻️ This initiative runs from March 2nd to April 15th, and we need EVERY single one of us to make an impact.

Laredo ISD Special Education Department hosted the 2026 Special Olympics Texas Area 21 opening ceremony and games at historic Shirley Field. Special education students from Laredo ISD, Jim Hogg County ISD, Webb County Consolidated ISD and Zapata County ISD participated in a variety of events. Each student received a medal for every event they participated in.
Today we had a very successful Career Day at Cigarroa Middle School! 🎓✨💛❤️
A huge thank you to all the presenters who took the time out of their busy schedules to come and share their careers, experiences, and advice with our students. Your willingness to invest your time truly made an impact and helped inspire our students to start thinking about their future goals and possibilities.

Our 8th grade GEAR UP students had an amazing time attending Passport to College at TAMIU! 🎓 They toured the dorms, explored the recreation center, visited the library, and even got a look inside the engineering shop. Experiences like this help our students start envisioning their future and seeing what college life is all about. We’re proud of their curiosity, leadership, and excitement for what lies ahead!
